We are off to Poole tomorrow to see Marion’s
parents for the week. So today was all about preparing and setting up the
garden for our absence. We tried to resolve one of our major issues, keeping
cats out of the front raised beds. Now this might not seem a world-shattering
problem but it is exercising Marion a great deal. I must admit that I have been
a little tardy doing anything about it. The question was what?
This necessitated a visit to the local DIY
centre, never my favourite spot on a Sunday morning. Finding anything in these
monolithic sheds always presents a major search, and so it proved. First of all
there is a subsidiary search to find somebody who will assist you. Usually this
is at the furthest extremity of the store, so there is then a march back to the
opposite side of the shop to find some netting. By this time Marion has picked
up some other goods. It sis no wonder that I recorded a high step count today.
So then we attempt to fix the net to the raised
bed, it was at this point I realised that I did not have any suitable nails to
fix the netting with. So then it was a quick walk to the local shop to purchase
some. Eventually we fixed the netting; I will not be responsible for my actions
if any cat breaches the defences. Next it might be a moat with some crocodiles.
If anybody has any suggestions please let me have them.
So on this note it is off to Poole tomorrow.
