Sea, sea and more sea

Today we have been crossing the Drake Passage; by the standards of this piece of water I think it has been quite calm. To me however the sea has been quite sporty and the ride quite bumpy, it has certainly laid Marion low for the day. Also too much for Sir Tim Rice who has postponed this evenings entertainment. I have done a lot of reading and attended a couple of lectures. The first was concerning the respective merits of Scott, Amundsen and Shackleton, while the second told me perhaps more about krill than I needed to know. The ship is very comfortable and it is perhaps too easy to snack and drink coffee all day. Maybe I will now pay a visit to the gym.

So a transition day to reflect on the glories of Antarctic and the delights of the Chilean fjords to come.

  1. I will expect a full update on the krill.
Plus Auntie and I are going to stage an intervention on your ‘holiday’ drinking when you are back!
    Lots of love as always.
