After yesterday’s guest blog normal service is
resumed. With daughter Laura here and wife Marion away for the weekend it has
been a busy and pleasurable day. Laura slept in while I read the paper online
after a leisurely breakfast.
Then it was time to continue our work in the garden.
This time we had to coax the decorative small stones back into place in the
gaps in the patio paving. That may seem simple, but it is tiring work,
particularly as Marion has exacting standards and will inspect the patio for
any stones out of place. Eventually we were finished and sent a photo off to
Marion for a pre-inspection. Yes, it looked ok, no guarantee on the final
inspection though.
A few jobs around the house, we decided that it was
time to dismantle the Easter Tree. Then to our favourite café for Sunday lunch,
well it was a choice between spag bol at home and roast beef, a no brainer
really. It was a great lunch, however it was very filling so there was no
pudding, instead a very stiff walk around the sea front. It was an easterly
wind and the sea was very wild, the walk was extremely bracing. At one end
though was the Harbour Bar where we had on of their superlative ice cream cones
for our pudding. Of course the walk back was more brutal because we were
walking into the wind. We had thought we could take the miniature railway the
last mile but we arrived just after it closed. So we trudged manfully on.
We arrived home tired and weary after our exertions,
but I had had a great day. The conversation had been stimulating from the
serious to the plain daft. There was plenty of exercise and we had achieved a
lot and had some good fun!!!
