Easter Weekend (1)

Good Friday has been a very dull dreary day here. There has been drizzle and low cloud all day. But never mind the long weekend has got off to an excellent start.

First of all our daughter has been staying and we have had many good conversations and a few laughs. Her stories of the inefficiencies in our National Health Service would be funny if they were not so shocking.

So this morning started with some routine housekeeping and me accompanying my daughter in a hair-raising ride to buy some new windscreen wipers. This afternoon it was off to the football, the mighty Boro won although it was something of a struggle. With other results going our way we are now top of the league, six big games to go!! Note for the Vermont readership, it is on the TV on Monday morning.

This evening we had a lovely meal at our favourite restaurant accompanied by a great chat.

Throughout the day there have been preparations for the visit of my son’s family tomorrow, in particular the two grandchildren. A whole range of excitements has been prepared. An Easter egg hunt, Easter bonnet making and cake decorating, as well I expect Easter egg eating. Much hilarity and happiness is expected. I will keep you updated tomorrow hopefully with a few pictures!
