Today’s blog is written by my daughter Laura with whom
I am enjoying a lovely weekend. Below you will see a picture of Laura hosing
the patio.
The weekend started early for me with a half day from
work so I could drive from London to Norwich to watch the might Boro in a
crucial promotion clash. A great atmosphere and a better outcome was a really
set up for the weekend.
After a long drive from Anglia to Scarborough Dad and
I headed into to town for some lunch and a spin in the mini with the lid down.
We tested out the acceleration to the max much to our amusement and the
annoyance of our fellow road users. Horsing around out of sight of mum!!
Any weekend with Dad wouldn’t be complete without us
doing some jobs round the house. Even at the age of 31 Dad still asks me if I’d
like to wash his car for a fiver when ever I am back in Yorkshire. Today we
were power-hosing the garden clearing off the moss and dirt of the winter and
preparing the garden for the warmer weather, which is noticeably on its way.
We managed to go the whole afternoon without
descending into a water fight and did a pretty good job, although I looked far
muddier than the patio stones by the end of the task. Our reward for our hard
work was a couple of pints in the pub where we had a good chat. Two heads being
better than one solving some problems.
Looking forward to tomorrow which will include lunch
at my favourite place, the Yew Tree Cafe and more of our nice chats
about of shared love of the Boro, trains and politics although broadly we only
ever agree on two of those three topics. I’ll let you decide which.
