Apologies to all of my readers, I expect that you
have been missing my daily utterings. Indeed I have been missing writing each
day on the variety of subjects that have been part of the first seventy odd
blogs. Unfortunately I have missed my objective of writing an entry every day
for a year. It just shows how you never know what is round the corner.
I was struck down with a chest infection that really
took the stuffing out of me. I have lacked energy to do anything other than
sleep or watch mundane television. I even stopped eating, and generally felt
depressed. It was so frustrating, but as I feel a lot better today and so am
back writing the blog, it is so restorative.
I think the worst point of the two weeks is realising
that you are just existing, and that a highlight of the day is watching a quiz
show called Pointless at 5pm on the BBC.
The previous week we met the close family in
Sherborne, North Dorset to intern my mother’s ashes. It was great to sit and
reminisce, look at old family photos, and recollect those funny and peculiar
moments that unite all families. The weather was extremely kind to us and truly
reflected my mother’s sunny character.
On a culinary note Marion bought some Dorset Knobs,
which can only be purchased in Dorset. They are a sort of hard biscuit that is
good to eat with cheese. And to go with this of course a Blue Vinney cheese
that is an extremely pungent blue cheese that again can only be purchased
locally.
So tomorrow I will be back onto good form, indeed if
I do not cough a lot I maybe readmitted to the marital bed!!!!!
